Lesson 1: The Temple and its Duties – Part 1

Original journal entry from May 24, 2025 – Response to Lesson 1: The Temple and Its Duties (Part 1). This was my summary of the Temple's key roles, groups, and responsibilities at the time I was working through the early Initiate Program lessons.

As of this writing:

The Council is comprised of the following members and they perform the following duties:
- Br. John - Founder, President, Patriarch
- Alexandre Orion - Head of Education Administration
- Carlos.Martinez3 - Pastor
- Neaj Pa Bol - Matriarch
- ren - Systems Administrator, Council Secretary
- RosalynJ - Council Advisor
- TheDude - Council Advisor
- RyuJin - Degree Administrator
- Zero - Security Officer, Head moderator
- Tavi - Membership Affairs & Temple support
- Rini - Knight's Secretary

The Council is the General Management as well as Supreme Court to act and decide on appeals.

The Clergy is comprised of the following members:

- Rosalyn J
- Ryujin
- TheDude
- Locksley
- Atticus
- Zanthan Storm
- Serenity Amyntas
- jpadkins

The clergy deal with the spiritual well-being and guide people along their Jedi journeys.

The IP Team is comprised of the following members:
- IP Team Lead: The Coyote
- Assistant Team Lead: Vacant
- Members: Tetrahedron, MichaelD, Keirani

The IP team consists of a group of volunteer Apprentices who provide assistance to the guests who are working on the Initiate Programme (IP).

The Knight’s Secretary is Rini. The Knight's Secretary is responsible for organizing and chairing the Knights' meetings, managing discussions, and organising votes. Furthermore, the Knight's Secretary is a contact person for all Temple Members who wish to contact the Knights directly.

The Administrators are comprised of the following members:
- Br. John
- Tavi
- Ren
- Tetrahedron
- CarlosMartinez3
- Tetrahedron

Administrators can make changes to grant permissions appropriate to rank or status and make changes to the site (with the approval of the Council), as well as on Discord.

The Moderators are comprised of the following members:
- Head Moderator: Zero
- Assistant Head Moderator: Khwang
- Moderators: Morkano, Rini, ChaotishRabe

The Moderators are tasked with ensuring that participants on TotJO's forum, Discord and Chat abide by the appropriate behavior and courtesy towards each other according to all temple rules and policies. The Head Moderator also serves as the Temple security officer, a person of trust who can and should be contacted in the case of any anti-social or illegal activities.

Looking back now: This entry shows how seriously I took understanding the Temple's structure early on. Listing out the roles helped me appreciate the volunteer effort behind the community and set a foundation for engaging with the lessons that followed.
