Lesson 3 – Bonus Assignment: The Knights Code
Original journal entry from July 13, 2025 – Bonus Assignment for Lesson 3: The Knights Code. This was my personal meditation and vow on each line of the Knights Code — committing to live it out in daily actions, relationships, and legacy.
A knight is sworn to valor.
I will not back down from a dangerous situation out of fear but boldly push forward because it is the right thing to do.
His heart knows only virtue.
Pushing for excellence, I give my best in everything I do.
His blade defends the helpless.
The power I hold is used for good, helping those who can’t help themselves.
His word speaks only truth.
When I speak it is only what I believe to be true. I don’t make any statements that I know are untrue nor do I withhold information to make a statement true if it otherwise would not be.
His shield shelters the forsaken.
Where I have the opportunity to I defend those who cannot defend themselves.
His courage gives hope to the despairing.
When I act courageously, it gives others hope to do the same.
His justice undoes the wicked.
Where I see injustice around me I work towards restoring balance and righteousness and counter the actions of those who perpetuate the injustice.
His image brings peace.
In living in balance with the Force and harmony with others I build a legacy for good, countering evil and bringing peace. When people think of me they are filled with peace.
His code breaks the darkness.
My way of living pushes out darkness and as I lead by example, those who follow in my footsteps will do the same.
His legend brings light.
The way I have positively influenced people’s lives, remembering these stories will encourage others.

Looking back now: This felt like a personal oath — taking the Knights Code and making it my own commitment to valor, truth, justice, and legacy. It was a powerful way to close out Lesson 3, affirming how the doctrine could shape not just thought but character and impact.
